I was looking for stuff about the P-38, and I came across this video, which uses the song for a soundtrack. I like this song, and I had not heard it for a long time, so I looked around on You Tube for a bit to see if I could find a better video. I didn't. I don't care for "live" recordings, and I don't much care for watching the band play. I want some kind of show. I'm not sure there is any connection between what is going on in the video and the lyrics in the song, but I'm not sure there isn't either. Patti wrote the song, and I think this is her singing, but I cannot be sure.

German Plane Landing Attempt
I had this in my list of videos on regular Pergelator, but it got deleted due to some vast media conspiracy, so I dug around and found another version and posted it here. Enjoy it while you can.

De Havilland Vampire
One thing leads to another, and here we have the De Havilland Vampire. A funny looking airplane. Second British jet fighter. Front portion of fuselage is made of wood, which is more than a little scary when you find out this thing can go 500 MPH, carries four 20 mm cannons (!), and can reach 40,000 feet in altitude. More than 3,000 of these things were built.
This engine used a centrifugal compressor instead of the axial flow compressor that we use today.
